Logan's speech

Logan is finally talking! I know he is not even two but I feel like it has taken forever. I wasn't really worried, not completely anyway. I find myself to be a reasonable mom, not to over worried. Having three children, I definitely have become more relaxed about milestones. Not too concerned with the average. I of course have my over reactive moments like any mother does. I admit I can be anxious about some things but for the most part I feel I have it together.

This issue has caused me stress though. I know boys take longer and being the third child adds to that. It has been really hard not hearing "mama" or other helpful words. Logan is definitely stubborn, he does things on his own time. Not because he is slower, needs help or even doesn't "get it". He is just plain annoying about it! He has had the ability to say "mama" for months, he just chooses not to say it. It has gotten to the point that when I ask him to say it, he looks me square in the eye and says "no".

He now says one word commands and his vocabulary increases everyday, when it suits him that is. Oh, he is going to be my challenging child. Stubborn, opinionated, vocal when it suits him. I don't know where he gets all that :) (of course I do)

More Mother's Day

I got plenty of snuggles on Mother's Day, the kids were great to me. Bella woke me up early in the morning with all my surprises and then the boys joined in a little later.

I love my kids....

Mom's and Muffins

This morning I had the privilege of attending "Mom's and Muffins" at Bella's school to celebrate Mother's Day. It was exactly that, the entire school and their moms, eating muffins (served by Dads I might add) in the cafeteria. It was fabulous!!!

Cannon Beach, OR.

We recently took a family trip to Cannon Beach, Or. What a great time, we were right on the beach and it was amazing!
The kids got to explore tide pools and see wonderful sea life near "Haystack Rock".

My favorite was this very purple starfish.

This wall is COVERED in shells, either oysters or mussels, not sure which.

When we got to our room, the resort had these ADORABLE robes for the kids to wear. They of course loved them and wore them to the pool every night.

Evenings were spent cooking over a fire on the beach, couldn't get any better. This is the kids first attempt at smores.
Darin in his element. The meal shown here is actually roast lamb with potatoes and asparagus. Who eats like this? Oh ya, we do.

Cameron of course had to find the best stick on the beach.

Notice the coffee?? Always a must during a morning walk on the beach.
