4th of July 2009

We had such a nice 4th this year. We spent most of it at Gramma and Papa's house after Darin and the big kids got back from crabbing on Papa's boat. 4th dinner was a fantastic crab feed, my favorite!

We also got to check out the property and see how the cherry trees were doing, play in the green house and just explore.

The grapes are really taking off this year...

The view from Papa's deck, so nice.

helping daddy with the corn, what a nice time.

Cameronasaurus

Cam had his very first school experience with a week long summer camp featuring dinosaurs. His favorite thing ever! They made shirts, fossils, sang songs, dug for bones. It was the best week ever! Best of all, the teacher will be the same for him in the fall when he starts preschool.

Happy Fathers Day

We were very fortunate to spend a great Fathers Day together as a family. The kids really enjoyed making the day special.

We spent the evening with the grandparents and as usual it was awesome. Great food, good conversation and of course the kids had a blast on the property.
What a special way to spend a special day...together.

Can't help but want to take pictures in front of their amazing view.

Happy Fathers Day to a couple of amazing guys.

Bella's not a Kindergartner anymore

This morning we spent time at Bella's school for her "end of the year" party. It was so much fun to see all the kids excited to be moving on to bigger things. I think the excitement actually came from all the sugar the passed of as "lunch". This year went by so fast, I can't believe it's over and she is going to be in 1st grade.

Dads and Donuts

Not to be confused with "Moms and Muffins", we had "Dads and Donuts" at Bella's school to celebrate Father's Day. So much fun to have sugar for breakfast with Dad right before being expected to sit still in class. Fun stuff!

Bella Update

Today we saw an Ear Nose and Throat specialist for Bella regarding her tonsils. You may know that she has been suffering from recurrent fevers for quite some time now and we haven't really had any idea what from. Our current suspicion is that her tonsils and/or adenoids are the culprit. Coincidentally, last night she woke up with ear pain (very convenient that we were going to see an ENT). Today she was diagnosed with a terrible ear infection, sinus infection and red, swollen tonsils. REALLY? All I got was "owe" from her.

She is being put on antibiotics for 3 weeks and then we go back to see what is still infected. The doctor said because of her history, we will probably be talking about surgery. I have a lot of anxiety about this, but I do know that it will probably be the smart solution. She is allergic to two major antibiotics and the current one that she can take, doesn't seem to have much affect. We will see in 3 weeks what the next step will be....stay tuned...

Logan's speech

Logan is finally talking! I know he is not even two but I feel like it has taken forever. I wasn't really worried, not completely anyway. I find myself to be a reasonable mom, not to over worried. Having three children, I definitely have become more relaxed about milestones. Not too concerned with the average. I of course have my over reactive moments like any mother does. I admit I can be anxious about some things but for the most part I feel I have it together.

This issue has caused me stress though. I know boys take longer and being the third child adds to that. It has been really hard not hearing "mama" or other helpful words. Logan is definitely stubborn, he does things on his own time. Not because he is slower, needs help or even doesn't "get it". He is just plain annoying about it! He has had the ability to say "mama" for months, he just chooses not to say it. It has gotten to the point that when I ask him to say it, he looks me square in the eye and says "no".

He now says one word commands and his vocabulary increases everyday, when it suits him that is. Oh, he is going to be my challenging child. Stubborn, opinionated, vocal when it suits him. I don't know where he gets all that :) (of course I do)

More Mother's Day

I got plenty of snuggles on Mother's Day, the kids were great to me. Bella woke me up early in the morning with all my surprises and then the boys joined in a little later.

I love my kids....

Mom's and Muffins

This morning I had the privilege of attending "Mom's and Muffins" at Bella's school to celebrate Mother's Day. It was exactly that, the entire school and their moms, eating muffins (served by Dads I might add) in the cafeteria. It was fabulous!!!

Cannon Beach, OR.

We recently took a family trip to Cannon Beach, Or. What a great time, we were right on the beach and it was amazing!
The kids got to explore tide pools and see wonderful sea life near "Haystack Rock".

My favorite was this very purple starfish.

This wall is COVERED in shells, either oysters or mussels, not sure which.

When we got to our room, the resort had these ADORABLE robes for the kids to wear. They of course loved them and wore them to the pool every night.

Evenings were spent cooking over a fire on the beach, couldn't get any better. This is the kids first attempt at smores.
Darin in his element. The meal shown here is actually roast lamb with potatoes and asparagus. Who eats like this? Oh ya, we do.

Cameron of course had to find the best stick on the beach.

Notice the coffee?? Always a must during a morning walk on the beach.

April 28, 2001

I know I'm a little early, but we will be on vacation and I don't want to post to the blog from the hotel.

Eight years of marriage, twelve years together and three children. Our love is strong, our determination even stronger, we are only just beginning...

Brave Bella

It's tradition for our family and friends to have a lamb roast every year around Easter to signify the sacrifice of the lamb. This year, one of the people there had rigged up ropes for climbing and Bella couldn't wait to try. He was a logger by profession so his skills were quite amazing and he was very patient with her as well.
As soon as she was hooked up, we couldn't get her out of the tree!

I think we have a future logger on our hands! She even removed a few branches while she was up there. At one point she had to have been at least 40 feet in the air! I was surprisingly calm with the whole adventure.
Oh, a little side note. Cameron had absolutely NO interest in trying this.

Bikes and Such

Our new favorite activity when ever the weather permits is bike riding. Cameron has just figured out the pedaling thing and loves his Thomas bike.

Logan's vehicle of choice is the rocket..could he be any cuter?
