Geotrax are cool!
So this was a really boring, rainy day and we were stuck home while some work was being done on the house. With some prompting from Cameron, I brought out the Geotrax and it has been fun for all. Great rainy day toy!

Aquarium in Newport
No this is not a picture of a picture. This is a real Jellyfish at the aquarium in Newport. It was quite the impressive sight, a giant tank filled with these beautiful creatures.
We took a day trip to visit this great place and saw some amazing things. I think this was a really big highlight for the kiddos.
You can't really tell from this picture but Cam was very excited to see the shark tank. It was actually a huge exhibit that you walked through like a tunnel, filled with sharks. It was quite a sight to see...
We didn't get a picture of it but at the bottom of the tank two scubba divers were working. Well, one diver was working and the other diver's main job from what we could tell was to wave a giant poll wrapped in tape stripes to deture the sharks from the first diver. This shark in particular was the problem. He kept swimming around them to see what they were doing.
This was a "to scale" model of a prehistoric shark mouth...enough said.

Cannon Beach, Oregon
We took our first offical family vacation since Logan was born. Darin had a little time off in between jobs so we decided to drive to Cannon Beach, Oregon and stay on the beach at a resort. Choosing to go in February was a good move on our part, we got a great off season deal at this really nice resort. Our room was right on the beach with a full few of the ocean and "Haystack Rock".
We spent most of our time walking the beach, digging in the sand and looking at the waves. Cameron of course spent all of his time finding the biggest sticks on the beach....
This is the view of "Haystack rock" from our room. If you happen to have been blessed with an 80's memory, you might remember this from the movie "Goonies".
It was definately a little cold on the beach but not as bad as you would think. The sun was shining for most of our trip and we were able to spend a lot of time outside. Bella was obsessed with trying to construct a sand castle. I think she just enjoyed digging...
Logan was actually sick during the whole trip but in pretty good spirits. This is a sleepy shot of him all bundled up on the beach.

Again, this is on the beach right outside our room.

New haircuts!
So we finally had it with Bella's hair. She is not the girlyist of girls and doesn't necessarily enjoy having her hair in clips and things. She would much rather go natural but this meant we would never see her beautiful face. So we caved and cut bangs. I have to say she looks very cute!
Cameron on the other hand has a full fledged "Fohawk". I couldn't commit to a real mohawk as he is scheduled for professional pictures tomorrow. I know, I'm weak. I just couldn't do it. Although I have to say this is the most appropriate hairstyle for our little man. He is rockin it!

Cam's new love
So, we have a new love at our house. Cameron has discovered Darin's skateboard and of course is obsessed! He actually has really good balance and shows good promise. As much as a two year old can I guess...
This was up and down the driveway for about 45 minutes!
He would push it up and Daddy would help him down. Then of course we introduced him to the special way he can go down the driveway himself.....
What fun! I hope we don't have any broken bones in our future....

First Foods
We tried rice cereal for the first time and it was not a big hit. Logan can't quite figure out what to do with his tongue. He keeps sticking it out and letting the food just dribble out of his mouth.
He actually had no interest after the first few tries. If he could throw the spoon, he would. I guess we will try it again in a few weeks...
