Spring Sun

Finally some weather to be happy about. We took a trip to our favorite park and had a little fun in the temporary sun.

Beach

Us Leonardsons are brave in the cold. We decided to take a trip to the beach and play in the sand even though it was absolutely freezing! All bundled up and trying not to get too wet, we did some digging, ran, splashed, and drove our RC car.

We even got to watch a few ferries and nearby trains.

More "Science Center" fun

Our science center membership is paying off. With all the rainy weather we have been having, it's nice to have somewhere fun indoors to go play. The kids really love the dinosaur exhibit and here they are sharing a footprint.

We got to see a really cool IMAX movie about the ocean. Logan actually wore his glasses, cool!

Bella and Cam loved it of course. Cameron waited patiently until the end of the film to see the shark.

More updated pictures

We are still busy getting over sicknesses but have a couple of new pictures to show...
How do you watch T.V.?

Cameron is learning to stay in his room at night, well..., sort of.

On one of our nice almost spring days, Logan has discovered the sand "gravel" box. I think he will be spending the entire summer in this very spot.

Catching up

So I have been really bad about posting on our blog, here are some catch up pictures...

We recently go to visit our local Science Center in Seattle. It was a lot of fun and we ended up purchasing a membership for the year so the kids could enjoy it even more. They had all kinds of really fun exhibits to enjoy like this "digger" that Cameron fell in love with.
They also have a butterfly exhibit to walk through and see multiple species of beautiful butterflies. Bella was apparently terrified of them and couldn't wait to get out, who knew?

Cameron on the other hand was completely fascinated and we had to keep reminding him not to step on them!

We also got to see a really cool dinosaur exhibit which was very near and dear to our Cam's heart. I think he could have spent all day in there.

Bella lost her first tooth and is on the phone telling her grandparents all about it. We are actually on to tooth #2 now.

How do you read your books? We like an upside down view...

More flood pictures

Flooding in Snohomish

For those that live out of town and don't know, we have recently received quite the snowfall, melt, rain and now major flooding. Darin and I went to look at the Snohomish river that is very near where we live. The sights were amazing, tragic and really just awe inspiring. I will try and give a little perspective to what you are looking at.

This picture is not the river but a commonly used roadway near the river. To the right is a farm and to the left are houses and soccer fields. Also notice the train on the tracks, that is usually a good 8-10 feet above the road.
Behind these houses are the soccer fields. Remember, this is not the river...

This is the river I would say at least a good 20 feet higher than normal. Notice the picnic table and trash can at the bottom of the picture. These are placed up on a cliff above the river, now flush with the river.

Again, the river is flush to the hillside when normally it's many feet below a walking trail which is also below street level. The tree you see is positioned on the top of a hill above the riverbed. Unbelievable.
